Here are some simple Earth Friendly and Body Lovin’ Tips to try out this weekend

Hello My Friend-
This weekend marks the 42nd annual Earth Day Celebration. Although many people are familiar with the basics- recycle, bring your bags to the grocery store and don’t litter, there are many simple things we can addinto our daily lives that lessen our impact on the Earth. The awesome news is you can take care of your body and the Earth at the same time.
Here are some simple Earth Friendly and Body Lovin’ Tips to try out this weekend:
Cut back on Your Meat Consumption-Eating meat contributes to heart disease, higher cholesterol, cancer, and obesity. We are not just hurting our bodies when we choose a cheeseburger, we are also impacting the planet. Meat production requires a large amount of antibiotics, fertilizers, water usage, and releases greenhouse gases as well as other toxic chemicals into the air and water supply. You do not need to be a vegetarian to eat less meat. Start by having one or two meat free meals a week.
Green up your plate– While you are cutting back on the meat, add in more dark green leafy vegetables. Kale, collards, swiss chard, romaine, spinach, mustard greens are some of the delicious greens that are missing from most Americans diets. Nutritionally, greens are very high in calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium, phosphorous, zinc and vitamins A, C, E and K. They are crammed with fiber, folic acid, chlorophyll and many other micronutrients and phyto-chemicals. Eating greens helps boost your energy and your mood. Choose organic greens for the most Earth friendly and body lovin’ experience.
Play in nature– While the gym serves its purpose, getting out in nature and going for a hike, run, or bike ride, revitalizes your body on a whole different level. Appreciating nature helps us connect with our desire to lighten our impact on the planet. The more you love something, the more you want to take great care of it. Same goes for our bodies- the more you appreciate your body, the easier it is to treat yourself with the love you deserve.
